After earning his B.A. in the Special Major of Business-Law from California State University, attorney Doughty attended law school at the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, where he was published in the Pacific Law Journal. Prior to starting his own practice where he serves as a personal injury attorney and runs the injury-oriented law firm, he worked as a Judicial Attorney for the Fifth District of the California Court of Appeals. He is a Past President of the Sutter Yuba Bar Association, and has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Yuba County Courts and is also a founder of the Sutter Yuba Trial Attorneys Association.
Attorney Doughty served on the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) Board of Governors for over 15 years. He has served CAOC at Lobby Day for years and served as a host to Republican State Legislators at the Reagan Ranch as a member of the CAOC-Inspired Republican Caucus to foster a better relationship with the republican members of our state legislature. He has served on membership committee phone banks and has been an instructor at the annual CAOC Convention.
Apart from his legal practice and his various roles as an auto accident attorney in the Sacramento area, attorney Doughty stays active and involved in his community and has served on the international and local boards of several nonprofit organizations. He served on the Beale Air Force Base Military Liaison Committee, acting as a liaison between the base and the community. He is also a Past President of the Rotary Club of Sutter Buttes in Yuba City. During his tenure as President, he organized and led a group to Belize to deliver 280 wheelchairs to people in need.
