Attorney Mark A. Doughty practices personal injury law in the Northern California communities of Sacramento, Lincoln, and Yuba City, where he represents people in cases of negligence or wrongful death arising out of automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability, and other injuries caused by negligent or wrongful conduct.
After earning his B.A. in the Special Major of Business-Law from California State University, Mr. Doughty attended law school at the McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, where he was published in the Pacific Law Journal. Prior to starting his own practice, Mr. Doughty worked as a Judicial Attorney for the Fifth District of the California Court of Appeals. Mr. Doughty has served the Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC) Board of Governors since 1998. He has served CAOC at Lobby Day for years and served as a host to Republican State Legislators at the Reagan Ranch as a member of the CAOC-Inspired Republican Caucus to foster a better relationship with the republican members of our state legislature. He has served on membership committee phone banks and has been an instructor at the annual CAOC Convention. Mr. Doughty also serves on the board of the finest consumer organization in California, supporting the rights of all injured victims, fighting for the right to a jury trial, and providing top-quality legal education for consumer attorneys.
Apart from his legal practice, Mr. Doughty stays active and involved in his community and has served on the international and local boards of many nonprofit organizations. He currently serves on the Beale Air Force Base Military Liaison Committee, acting as a liaison between the base and the community. He is also a Past President of the Rotary Club of Yuba City; during his tenure he organized and led a group to Belize to deliver 280 wheelchairs to people in need.
Speaking about his practice, Mr. Doughty says: "I have found the practice of personal injury law very rewarding and important. I represent injury victims who can't afford to hire an attorney. Their lives have been severely affected by the negligent acts of others in car crashes, truck collisions, animal attacks, and other injury-causing events. We work hard to take the hassle out of the process for our clients so that they can concentrate on getting better."
